DANCE
Providing a nurturing and stimulating educational environment, the Dance program at MAS offers a wide range of dance disciplines and methodologies. The dance curriculum is designed to offer students a strong technical base, to expand their knowledge of dance as an art form and to inspire passionate creativity in our students. Emphasis is placed on technique, dance history, health/nutrition, choreography and performance. Students participate in ballet, modern, jazz and ethnic dance classes. Dance composition and improvisation make up the balance of our well-rounded dance curriculum.

Since graduating from Miami Arts Studio, I earned a degree in Early Childhood Education and became a teacher. I’ve used the skills I learned at MAS to make learning engaging and enjoyable for my students. My background in dance and cheer has also allowed me to coach the cheerleading team at my school. In addition, I started my own tutoring business to be able to help students struggling in school.

ALEXA DELGADO
CLASS OF 2022
Miami Arts Studio provided me with the support I needed to realize that pursuing dance as a career was possible. Today, I reside in New York City and am graduating from Pace University with a BFA in commercial dance class of 2026. The dance magnet and dance team at MAS truly prepared and trained me for professional settings such as dancing with Thalía on NBC and working with choreographers such as Mandy Moore. By attending MAS from 6-12th grade, I was taught how to lead with kindness, be driven, and to always reach for the stars. My ambition and determination was built in the walls of Miami Arts Studio and today I am using those values that MAS nurtured to pursue my career as a professional dancer living in New York City.
