Newly Elected 25-26 SHPE UF Executive Board - Carolina Abad_edited.jpg

CAROLINA ABAD
CLASS OF 2023

I’m most proud of turning my summer internship at Lockheed Martin into a year-long role, where I’ve improved internal systems and uncovered significant cost-saving opportunities for high-impact projects. My work at two Florida venture capital firms has been equally rewarding, helping startups scale through data-driven investment analysis. As Treasurer of SHPE UF, I’ve strengthened the organization’s financial foundation to better support and empower our members.

CLASS OF 2021

The one thing that I am most proud of accomplishing this year was participating in THON, the world’s largest student-run philanthropy that supports the fight against childhood cancer. I helped in raising over 17 million dollars to ensure that no family dealing with childhood cancer receives a bill during their treatment. I was also fortunate enough to take part in the 46-hour-long, no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon to raise both awareness and funds for these families. Through it all, I loved building relationships with the families we supported, and I’m thankful that MAS helped me realize just how important it is to give back to others.

GIOVANNY MUNOZ
CLASS OF 2021

My commitment to pursuing law began at MAS, where I discovered my passion for advocacy and helping others. I will carry these values as I enter a new chapter of my life at the University of Florida Levin College of Law in Fall of 2025. Being awarded a full-tuition merit scholarship to graduate debt-free from the top law school in the state is one of my proudest accomplishments, particularly as a first-generation college graduate. I’m beyond excited to use the lessons learned at MAS and UF to give back to the South Florida community that shaped me.
